Another TrailblazerDX has come and gone, and this year’s event was nothing short of groundbreaking. The undeniable star of the show was Agentforce – Salesforce’s flagship AI platform – but TDX ’25 brought much more than just AI to the table. Whether you’re an admin, architect, or developer, there were plenty of insights and new features to get excited about.
In this article, I’ll break down the most significant announcements and what they mean for you. Let’s dive in!
Agentforce Takes Center Stage
If there’s one word that sums up TDX ‘25, it’s Agentforce. Salesforce’s AI platform has transformed from a promising concept to a robust reality, and the latest updates are truly impressive.
Agentforce Developer Edition
One of the biggest announcements was the launch of the Agentforce Developer Edition org. At long last, Salesforce professionals now have hands-on access to Agentforce and Data Cloud without eating up precious sandbox credits. Better yet, this org won’t expire as long as you log in periodically.

Agentforce 2dx
Agentforce 2dx builds on the foundations of Einstein Copilot to deliver multi-agent capabilities tailored for specific business roles.
Agentforce has grown beyond just one AI assistant. There are now multiple Agent types, each designed for different roles and use cases:
- Agentforce Default: The AI assistant within Salesforce, offering user-facing support.
- Agentforce SDR: Acts as a business development representative, working leads, handling initial outreach, answering questions, and handing off to human reps when needed.
- Agentforce Sales Coach: Provides real-time coaching for your sales team.
- Agentforce Service Agent: Automates the customer support process across key digital channels
- Agent for Setup: Provides navigation, support, and assistance to Salesforce Admins using Setup
These Agents aren’t just glorified chatbots, they’re capable of deliberate thinking and analytical decision-making. Agentforce 2dx takes AI assistance beyond simple reactive interactions and into proactive problem-solving.
Instead of simply responding to customer questions, Agentforce 2dx can proactively identify potential issues and reach out to customers with solutions before they even know there’s a problem. Imagine receiving a message saying, “We’ve detected a connectivity issue with your smart light bulb – here’s how to fix it,” before your customer even picks up the phone. That’s the power of Agentforce 2dx.
Lifecycle for Agentforce 2dx
At TDX ‘25, Salesforce unveiled a suite of agentic development tools designed for no-code, low-code, and pro-code builders alike. With the introduction of the Agentforce 2dx Development Lifecycle, building scalable, robust solutions is more straightforward than ever.
One standout is Testing Center, a mission-critical tool that allows you to generate automated, AI-powered tests – not just one or two but hundreds if needed. This ensures your Agent performs exactly as expected before deployment, giving you confidence in its reliability.

Agentforce API
The Agentforce API is now live and available. It uses the server-sent events (SSE) HTTP standard. SSE is a long-running, one-way HTTP connection that is used to chunk progressive bits of a longer response.
It’s perfect for a long-running agent that produces bits of inference at a time to provide users feedback on the progress of a running agent request. However, there is also a synchronous mode that uses a standard single HTTP request if your API usage is agent-to-agent, which would be easier to implement.
Being a long-standing feature of HTTP, SSE is well supported by many languages, such as JavaScript, Python, and Java.
Agentforce for Setup
Out of the box, Agent for Setup will come with several powerful capabilities, including:
- Help: Ask the Agent how to perform common tasks, like “How do I freeze a user?” or “How do I deactivate a user?”.
- Report Types: The Agent can create custom report types based on your specifications.
- Connected Apps: Get clear explanations of what a Connected App is and how it works.
- Permissions: Understand why a user has access to certain objects or features.
Looking forward, there are already plenty of other exciting features on the roadmap:
- Formulas: The Agent will generate formulas based on natural language prompts.
- Objects and Fields: It will be able to create objects and fields for you.
- Navigation: The Agent will guide you directly to the right page, e.g., “Where do I create a validation rule?”.
- Auth Providers: It will assist with authentication setups, like “Create an Auth Provider to log in via Google”.
Salesforce made one thing clear: Agentforce for Setup isn’t here to replace admins; it’s here to make their lives easier by automating routine tasks so they can focus on more strategic work.
Agent for Setup is bundled with the Agentforce platform, so if you purchase Agentforce for Sales, you’ll automatically get Agent for Setup included.
AgentExchange Marketplace
Building AI Agents from scratch takes time, which is why Salesforce launched AgentExchange, a marketplace where Partners and Agentblazers can share and discover Agentforce components.
There are four key component types:
- Actions: Ready-to-use integrations (Apex, Flows, APIs, and prompts) to expand an Agent’s capabilities for industry-specific tasks.
- Prompt Templates: Pre-written, reusable prompts that ensure interactions are structured and effective.
- Topics: Grouped actions and instructions around a specific task to keep AI responses consistent and within guardrails.
- Agent Templates: Pre-built AI workflows combining multiple Topics and Actions, with metadata and global instructions to streamline deployment.
This marketplace is more than just a repository – it’s a learning hub for exploring the art of the possible with AI Agents. It offers an easy way to see what others have built and adapt it to fit your unique needs!
LWC Optimization and ApexGuru Insights
Salesforce delivered exciting updates on the platform side as well. ApexGuru and LWC Optimization are designed to help developers create better, faster, and more accessible solutions. ApexGuru’s actionable insights make it easier to identify performance bottlenecks, while LWC Optimization ensures components meet accessibility standards and best practices.

Lightning Out 2.0
Another huge update was the revival of Lightning Out with version 2.0. Previously stuck in beta, Lightning Out 2.0 is set to become generally available later this year, bringing enhanced security with iframes and better performance with asynchronous resource loading.

Heroku AppLink
A surprise addition at TDX ‘25 was Heroku AppLink, designed to bridge the gap between Heroku and Salesforce. This new feature enables elastic scaling without the limitations that plagued Salesforce Functions.
With AppLink, it’s easier to link Heroku apps to Salesforce, giving developers more flexibility to build scalable, dynamic applications.

Final Thoughts
TrailblazerDX ’25 showed that Salesforce isn’t slowing down when it comes to innovation. From game-changing updates to Agentforce and developer tooling to exciting platform enhancements, there’s no doubt that the future of Salesforce is brighter – and more agentic – than ever.
