Using advanced machine learning and predictive analytics, Einstein Copilot gives smart recommendations, automates everyday tasks, and provides useful insights, all within the familiar Salesforce platform.

This high-tech tool not only boosts productivity but also helps businesses make better decisions, driving growth and success. Whether you’re in sales, marketing, or customer service, Einstein Copilot is your smart helper, guiding you through each step with ease and accuracy. In this article, I’ll go through everything you need to get up and running with your Einstein Copilot!

Einstein Copilot

Think of it as a smart assistant that helps you get more out of your Salesforce data by making your work easier and more efficient. Einstein Copilot is a user-facing assistant – it appears on the Salesforce screen for your sales users, service users, marketing users, and more! You can toggle it on or off using the Einstein icon, giving you the option to open it when you need it and close it when you don’t.

End users, this one’s for you! No more bugging the admin for every little thing. With Einstein Copilot, you’ll have a genius sidekick right on your screen, ready to help out on demand. Need to find the best lead? Done. Want to automate those repetitive tasks? Handled. It’s like having your own personal assistant who never takes a coffee break. Trust us, you’re going to wonder how you ever lived without it!

You can also configure Einstein Copilot for use across customer-facing channels such as your website, Chatbots, Slack, and messaging channels.

Einstein Copilot is essentially the front end of the tool, with both Copilot Actions (more below) and Prompt Builder part of the back end. Think of Prompt Builder as a tool that allows an admin to say what sort of things an end-user can ask Copilot. You can learn more about Prompt Builder and how to get started building your first prompt here.

Copilot Actions

Copilot Actions in Salesforce Einstein Copilot are predefined or custom tasks that the AI assistant can execute to help users streamline their workflows. These actions leverage AI to automate routine tasks, provide recommendations, and offer insights. Here’s how they work:

  1. Task Automation: Copilot Actions can automatically handle repetitive tasks, like data entry or updating records, saving users time and reducing errors.
  2. Recommendations: The AI can suggest next steps, such as which leads to follow up on based on data analysis and predictive modeling.
  3. Insights: It provides valuable insights by analyzing data trends and helping users make informed decisions.
  4. Integration: Copilot Actions integrates seamlessly with Salesforce’s existing tools and workflows, making it easy to use within the platform without requiring extensive setup.

By using Copilot Actions, users can enhance their productivity and focus more on strategic activities rather than mundane tasks. For example, Copilot Actions can automate sending follow-up emails, scheduling meetings, updating customer records, and generating reports. This allows users to spend more time planning business strategies and building customer relationships instead of handling routine tasks.

How to Enable Einstein Copilot

First things first, let’s turn on Einstein! To do this, go into setup, search for Generative AI, then enable using the toggle. Once this is done, refresh the page.

After you’ve refreshed the page, you will be able to turn on Einstein Copilot. This can be done by searching for Einstein Copilots. Again, use the toggle to turn the feature on.

Lastly, you need to assign the relevant permission sets. There are two Permission Sets for Copilot: Einstein Copilot for Salesforce Admin and Einstein Copilot for Salesforce User.

Copilot Builder

To customize your Copilot, you will need to open the Copilot Builder. This can be done by searching for Copilots in setup, opening your Copilot by clicking on the name, then use the “Open in Builder” button.

There are various sections to the Copilot Builder that you can use to customize your Copilot to your organization’s specific needs:

  1. Actions: The actions section is divided into two different sections; This Copilot’s Actions and Copilot Actions Library. This is how you can add or remove actions to your Copilot.
  2. Language Settings: Although Einstein Copilot is currently only available in English, once available this will be where you can enable your Copilot for other languages. You can also select the tone of conversation for your Copilot here.
  3. Event Logs: This is where you can view a log of all sessions for your Copilot.
  4. Dynamic Plan: this section shows the multi-step process that the AI model undergoes to determine the user’s underlying intent and provide the most relevant response.
  5. Conversation Preview: This is a preview of the Copilot where you can test your prompts.
  6. Activate/Deactivate: Use this button to activate and deactivate your Copilot. You will need to deactivate your Copilot to be able to make any changes to it such as adding or removing actions.

Einstein Copilot Analytics

This is something I don’t think is getting the attention it deserves. A lot of people have rather strong opinions on the pricing of Einstein AI, and understandably so. That’s why the analytics feature is so useful as you can see a number of different data points to help you understand if your investment is being put to good use. The total number of sessions, average interactions per user, total actions launched, average actions duration in seconds, and success rate are just some of the data points shown.

There is also a specific section for action adoption, which is a great way of seeing which of your Copilot Actions are being utilized by your users and the success rate for each one. This is a prebuilt dashboard that can be viewed via setup so is only available to those with the Einstein Copilot for Salesforce Admin permission set.

Summary

Salesforce Einstein Copilot is a game-changer for businesses looking to enhance productivity and make smarter decisions. By leveraging AI to automate routine tasks, provide insightful recommendations, and seamlessly integrate with existing workflows, it empowers users across various departments. Whether you’re in sales, marketing, or customer service, Einstein Copilot serves as a reliable assistant, guiding you through daily operations with ease and precision.

As you enable and customize your Copilot, you’ll find it becomes an invaluable part of your team, driving growth and efficiency. With detailed analytics to track its performance and adoption, you can ensure that your investment in Einstein AI is paying off. Embrace the future of business operations with Salesforce Einstein Copilot and take your efficiency to the next level.
