It’s no secret that Slack has come a long way in terms of features, automation, and integration capabilities – moving at the pace of innovation. In the age of AI, bringing the latest technology to where your company’s context exists is no longer a nice-to-have but the next step in empowering your entire organization.
In this post, we’ll dive into the newest Slack announcements from Dreamforce 2025 that every Salesforce professionals should know about.
1. Salesforce in Slack – Reimagined
Ever since the acquisition of Slack back in 2021, Salesforce has made it a priority to simplify the integration between the two platforms. During the Slack keynote at Dreamforce 2025, Parker Harris confirmed that Salesforce is “reengineering all of Salesforce to be Slack-first”, and that is already visible through the latest features, now generally available:
- Readily available Agent Employee Templates, which empower teams to build custom agents within Salesforce and deploy them to Slack.
- A pre-built agent called Slack Channel Expert, which can answer any FAQs based on channel conversation history and other data sources such as Slack Canvases or PDFs.
- Salesforce Channels, which bring Slack conversations into Salesforce record pages and Salesforce functionality right within the dedicated Slack channel.
Tableau and HR Service are also generally available in Slack today, with other core Salesforce apps to come in the near future. With the addition of Sales and IT Service in Slack, users will have the complete picture at their fingertips in a unified experience that combines both structured and unstructured data.

2. New AI Functionality
Unlocking human potential is one of Slack’s core goals, and reimagining the entire user experience is part of making this happen. Nowadays, this translates into having readily available AI functionality within all of your users’ flow of work – and what better place to make it accessible than Slack?
Today, Slack is already packed with AI functionality. Each paid Slack plan includes AI features from the get-go:
- If you’re on Slack Pro, your team can start making use of unlimited app integrations, including AI agents, AI summaries based on message history, and AI huddle notes.
- For Business+ customers, Slack also includes AI-powered file summaries, daily recaps, and even workflow generation.
- Slack Enterprise+ customers can now start using enterprise search – no more switching context, as the Slack search bar becomes your go-to for any company information, be it in Slack, Salesforce, or other connected applications.

Newly announced as an addition to Slack’s other AI features, the well-known Slackbot is becoming a personalized AI companion. Currently scheduled to become generally available in early 2026, Slackbot will be grounded in all of your enterprise data and able to generate next steps, answer questions, and trigger actions.

3. Slack Becomes an Agentic Operating System
While Salesforce customers have already started using Agentforce agents, chances are these agents are not the only ones being leveraged for various tasks. By making the Real-Time Search API and MCP Server available, third-party agents will be able to securely use Slack’s conversational data to make better decisions and deliver even better outputs to your team.
Slack is well positioned at the center of it all, cementing its place as the Agentic Operations System where applications, agents, and humans come together to make the magic happen.

Final Thoughts
Slack is definitely evolving at a rapid pace, and while it’s already a central hub for the businesses that use it, the new additions – as well as the planned roadmap – will continue to make it even better. By bringing humans and agents in a single place, Slack can be the one pane of glass for everything your team needs to do and more.
