New: Salesforce and Google Workspace AI Assistants

Salesforce and Google have a longstanding partnership which will be extended to Google Workspace generative AI assistants paired with the Salesforce platform. This will allow users to securely work across platforms to generate customized content in Google Workspace, and update records and trigger workflows in Salesforce.

Salesforce is the first partner to integrate with Google Workspace’s new Duet AI extensions framework, and Google Workspace is the first extensibility partner for Salesforce’s new Einstein Copilot.

Most recently, at Connections ‘23 in June, Salesforce extended Data Cloud with the Google Cloud Platform to a) reduce the complexity of moving data between platforms with zero-copy ETL between BigQuery and Data Cloud, and b) ‘bring your own’ AI model from Vertex AI.

The Salesforce-Google partnership has paved the way for Google Analytics and Google Ads for marketers, Google Sheets and Google Drive for productivity, Google API/Service Accounts and Google Single Sign-On (SSO) for easier platform access, Chrome extensions for users and for admins – and even a potential acquisition at one point in time.

Generate Personalized Content

Contextual Workspace content will include emails in Gmail, content in Google Docs, and more. Seamlessly access relevant Salesforce information on prior meetings, customer interactions, and sales outcomes.

Update Salesforce Records

Leverage Google Workspace data to automatically keep Salesforce records up to date – like moving an opportunity stage forward in Salesforce based on context from Gmail.

Interaction and Meeting Summaries

Based on context from Salesforce and Google Workspace, automatically generate summaries, scheduling follow-ups and assigning tasks.

For example, a summary from Google Meet can trigger assignment of tasks to owners in Salesforce, schedule follow-up meetings in Google Calendar, and move change opportunity stages.

Summary

As two wildly popular enterprise technology platforms, Salesforce and Google’s partnership extending to Google Workspace generative AI assistants is gearing up to be a big win for organizations.

Plus, there’s further promise, with Salesforce becoming the first partner to integrate with Google Workspace’s new Duet AI extensions framework, and conversely, Google Workspace being the first extensibility partner for Salesforce’s new Einstein Copilot.
