It’s time for Gearset’s annual State of Salesforce DevOps survey! Last year’s survey saw a record number of responses and unparalleled insight into how teams are adopting DevOps across the ecosystem.
Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of the biggest survey for Salesforce DevOps.
Why Should You Take Part?
DevOps is now the go-to approach for developing on Salesforce. More Salesforce professionals are recognizing the benefits of adopting DevOps practices, and those who aren’t risk getting left behind. However, it can be difficult to understand where to go next on your journey toward DevOps maturity. That’s where the State of Salesforce DevOps survey steps in.
Data gathered in the survey is analyzed by DevOps experts and compiled into a report that will help you benchmark your adoption and performance against other teams, build compelling business cases for key DevOps tools, and find out what it would take to become an elite DevOps team.
By taking part in this year’s survey you can help make the next report our most insightful yet. Plus, you’ll also be in with the chance to win a $1,000 Amazon gift card just by taking part!
What Did Last Year’s Report Find?
Thanks to the 1,296 Salesforce users who took part in the last survey, we were able to identify the current priorities and challenges for Salesforce teams in the State of Salesforce DevOps Report 2024. Here are four key takeaways from the 2024 report:
- DevOps is being democratized: It’s no longer the case that the adoption of DevOps processes in the Salesforce ecosystem is skewed towards developers and reliant on code-heavy tools. Admins are now increasingly involved in DevOps processes with only 21% of teams still splitting their release workflows.
- Migrating to permission sets remains a high priority: Although Salesforce isn’t enforcing the move from permissions on profiles to permission sets, 80% of teams are still planning to migrate to a permission set model by 2026. And teams are seeing real benefits, with those who’ve already migrated reporting drastically shorter deployment times compared to those who haven’t yet made the switch.
- Compliance requirements are on the rise: As businesses bring more processes onto the Salesforce platform and house more customer data in their orgs, teams increasingly need to comply with a broader array of compliance frameworks. This year’s report showed that a huge 82% of teams are already compliant with at least one security framework and over half are working towards compliance with additional frameworks in the coming year.
- Some backup solutions are leaving teams vulnerable: The majority of teams are backing up their Salesforce orgs, with only 13% saying they don’t have plans to back up their Salesforce data. But not all backup solutions are delivering the same results and we’re seeing big disparities in the frequency of backup runs and the speed of recovery.
This is just a glimpse of what last year’s report revealed. By taking the survey you’ll help uncover more valuable insights that will help to benchmark your progress and performance in the year ahead.
