Salesforce has confirmed that the team behind MeshMesh, the AI-native Salesforce implementation platform, has joined the company. Its technology will be integrated into the Salesforce platform going forward.
Members of this team include Co-Founder and Head of Product David Devore, Co-Founder Kevin Nuest, and Co-Founder and CTO Calvin Hoenes, who will all be joining the Enterprise Technology organization.
Is This an Acquisition?
Although all three Co-Founders have taken to LinkedIn to celebrate MeshMesh joining Salesforce, this does not appear to be an acquisition or acquihire. The Co-Founders all wrote this in their identical statements: “[…] we’ll expand internal access to the platform as well as integrate key elements of MeshMesh – particularly its self-improving evaluation and reinforcement learning loop – into Salesforce Platform.”
When asked for confirmation as to whether this involved any kind of formal financial transaction that would indicate an acquisition, Salesforce did not provide a direct answer.
“We can confirm members of the MeshMesh team have joined Salesforce,” Salesforce told SF Ben. “We’re pleased to welcome them to the company and look forward to their contributions.”
At the time of writing, there have been no official press releases from either company.
Why Is This Important?
MeshMesh is most well-known for its efficiency capabilities surrounding Salesforce implementations. Its website slogan reads: “Plan and build Salesforce by simply asking”, utilizing artificial intelligence through vibe coding.
Tim Combridge, one of SF Ben’s Technical Content Writers, recently experimented with MeshMesh, stating that he was “quite impressed with the way it takes instructions, then asks clarifying questions (which is something many tools like this DON’T do) to make sure it has the context it needs to do things right, ideally the first time.”
This technology has been well talked about within the community. It was showcased at the recent London’s Calling conference, and Calvin Hoenes was also interviewed and promoted by Salesforce at this year’s TrailblazerDX.
The company also claims to multiply ROI by 940%, saving 80 hours of time per employee per month, and seamlessly work with existing Salesforce customizations. It makes sense as to why Salesforce would be interested in having those capabilities and the team behind them on board.
So why not undertake a full acquisition? Well, MeshMesh is a young company, having only been founded in 2023.
They perhaps do not need the company as a whole, if they can just integrate the existing technology without any overheads. This technology is also heavily centered around AI accessibility, which is an area that Salesforce is currently laser-focused on by bringing everything either in-org or into Slack. One specific place to watch will be how the MeshMesh technology is incorporated into the nascent Agentforce for Setup functionality that has rolled out recently.
Final Thoughts
This hiring effort from Salesforce has scored them the capabilities and team of one of the most talked-about partners in the ecosystem.
It will be really interesting to see how the collaboration between the two technologies plays out, and how integral it will be to Salesforce’s overall mission surrounding trusted, connected, and accessible AI.
