    I have used Storage Watch in the past (https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=3f5c3290-3421-4b52-9cae-79c8710bc1f9). Its a handly little free tool which notifies pre configured users or system admins when the file or data storage is going beyond a threshold. I cannot believe salesforce does not provide this.
