Salesforce shares have soared 14% after the company announced Q2 2027 financial results on Wednesday. The CRM giant also increased its full-year outlook amid growing traction around its artificial intelligence products.

This quarter’s earnings have surpassed Wall Street projections, largely bolstered by a $2.6B gain on strategic investments through its stake in AI company Anthropic. Salesforce’s partnership with Anthropic has also expanded with the announcement of Claudeforce, a new plugin for Salesforce in Claude.

Salesforce Q2 Results in Full

This time around, Salesforce delivered what CEO Marc Benioff is calling “one of [its] best quarters ever”, with revenue up 11% YoY, totalling $11.3B.

Current remaining performance obligation (cRPO) growth has accelerated to 14% YoY, raising revenue guidance by $200M ($300M in CC).

Subscription and support revenue is up 12% YoY, totalling $10.8B, and the company now has a remaining performance obligation of $66B, up 11% YoY.

This quarter’s earnings have also been particularly prosperous and reassuring for Salesforce’s AI ventures, with Agentforce and Data 360 ARR hitting nearly $3.9B, up a significant 210% YoY.

Agentforce ARR has exceeded $1.5B, up over 240% YoY. Seven billion Agentic Work Units (AWUs) – Salesforce’s method for measuring AI value – have been delivered to date across Agentforce and Slack, with 3.2 billion in Q2, growing 97% QoQ.

Salesforce was also able to provide more up-to-date information on Agentforce’s adoption numbers. It reported that bookings for Agentforce One Edition and Agentforce for Apps – premium Sales and Service SKUs – more than doubled QoQ.

“AI is delivering value across every layer of our platform,” Marc Benioff said. “We’re seeing incredible demand for our AI and data products, with ARR about to cross $4B. And with AIforce, our trusted enterprise harness, we’re unlocking the data, workflows, business logic, actions, and governance inside Salesforce and making it available to every agent, model, and interface. This is how we are turning AI into customer success at unprecedented scale.”

Big AI News: Claudeforce

The biggest announcement from the earnings is arguably not Salesforce’s glowing numbers but the introduction of Claudeforce.

Claudeforce – the next part of the growing partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic – launches Salesforce in Claude. At its core, Claudeforce is a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills, including meeting prep, deal health review, and pipeline review, designed to draw on Claude’s reasoning, agentic tool use, and generative UI.

It’s enabled through ‘AIforce’, Salesforce’s enterprise harness, which brings business data and workflows to agents through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools.

After weeks of rumors surrounding the existence of this product, its announcement is already beginning to make waves in both the Salesforce ecosystem and the wider tech space. Not only that, but Anthropic and Salesforce are also planning to introduce more integrations across Claude, Salesforce, and Slack, expanding each company’s use of the other’s technologies, according to Salesforce.

Salesforce in Claude is available to select pilot customers now and is expected to launch in open beta in September 2026.

Surging Stock

Salesforce’s impressive earnings and Claudeforce announcement sent its stock surging up by 14% in after-hours trading on Wednesday. Over the last month, the stock has risen by 18.44%, contributing to a 5.56% increase in the last six months. However, CRM stock is currently down 17.80% over the last year, with its last peak having been back in early January 2026.

It is clear that Salesforce is continuing to make big bets on its AI products, tools, and capabilities. Evidently, Salesforce AI usage is increasing – now the goal will be to determine how its customers actually get the best value from the AI, as recently covered by Salesforce President and Chief Platform and Engineering Officer, Rohan Kumar.

Final Thoughts

As Salesforce wraps up another successful quarter, there are both new updates to look forward to and potential scenarios to examine.

As Claudeforce breaks into the market and the numbers are studied, we will aim to answer some of those questions over the coming months.
