Salesforce and Anthropic have announced ‘Claudeforce’ – a partnership which brings Claude and Salesforce closer together. CRM stock surged in extended trading as the software company revealed the news today, as its Q2 ‘27 earnings call began.

As the results were announced – along with Claudeforce – Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said: “This nonsense of the SaaSpocalypse, I think it’s time for it to stop.” Let’s take a look at the announcement.

What Is Claudeforce?

The Claudeforce partnership launches with Salesforce in Claude – a Plugin which has 37 prebuilt sales skills.

Salesforce in Claude is enabled by ‘AIforce’, Salesforce’s enterprise harness which brings business data and workflows to agents through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools.

The Claudeforce partnership is intended to bring Claude intelligence and judgment, reasoning, adapting, and deciding in real time with Salesforce’s data, rules, and trusted workflows, which turn that judgment into enterprise-ready action.

Salesforce in Claude

The new partnership will see the debut of Salesforce in Claude, a plugin that understands the sellers’ revenue cycle and acts on it, “giving them an AI CRO” –  with 37 prebuilt sales skills including meeting prep, deal health review, and pipeline review, Salesforce says.

Salesforce and Anthropic built these skills, designed specifically to draw on Claude’s reasoning, agentic tool use, and generative UI – not generic CRM prompts wrapped around an API.

This will include an onboarding experience that reads a seller’s enterprise context – Salesforce, Slack, and any connector in Claude – in order to stand up a tailored dashboard with accounts, pipeline, and live data.

Salesforce in Claude routes actions through Salesforce to make sure business rules are always enforced, with seamless setup. An admin connects Salesforce in Claude once, with authentication and permissions managed centrally. Every seller gets access from day one, with no per-user setup, no new permissions model to build, and no re-auditing account by account, Salesforce says.

Claude is available in Agentforce, acting as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine. It powers Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker by default, and is available in Agent Builder.

And, thanks to Amazon Bedrock, Claude is now available within the Salesforce Trust Boundary, letting customers deploy domain-specific AI while keeping data and AI workloads secure. Salesforce says this even includes those in regulated industries.

Slack

Salesforce says that, by embedding Claude directly into Slack, they are “bridging the gap between team dialogue and autonomous enterprise action”.

Through this new partnership, Claude is the default model for Slack and is the “intelligent backbone” across the Slack experience. It will power Slackbot, augment teams via Claude Tag, and accelerate coding as a founding partner for Slack Code.

“Rather than managing disparate tools, teams can now reason through complex decisions alongside Claude in Slack and instantly execute governed, high-value actions in Salesforce – all without ever leaving the flow of work,” Salesforce said in a statement.

The Salesforce-Anthropic Partnership Expands

Salesforce says that it and Anthropic are “strategic customers” of one another, with this reciprocal adoption making each business both a builder and a customer of their hybrid architecture.

Salesforce is Anthropic’s preferred CRM and connects communication, workflows, and agents through Slack, while Claude powers Slackbot for Salesforce customers and employees.

Anthropic and Salesforce are also planning to introduce more integrations across Claude, Salesforce, and Slack, expanding each company’s use of the other’s technologies, Salesforce said.

Salesforce in Claude is available to select pilot customers now and expects to launch in open beta in September 2026.

Additional prebuilt skills will begin launching in late 2026.

Marc Benioff, Chair & CEO, Salesforce, said: “We’re bringing together the world’s #1 AI and #1 CRM – the best of both worlds. Today, we’re launching Claudeforce, running directly on top of Salesforce via our new AIforce UI harness, Headless 360, Data 360, Tableau, and Slack.

“Here, the UI is the AI – allowing you to build custom apps dynamically and answer any enterprise question. Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn’t run a company, and deterministic systems don’t reason.

“By fusing Claude’s extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we’re delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts. This is how every business will run.”

Dario Amodei, CEO & Co-Founder, Anthropic, said: “We believe frontier intelligence should be safe, trusted, and deeply capable, which is why the world’s leading businesses turn to Claude for their most important work.

“Salesforce in Claude brings this same frontier intelligence into the systems where much of the world’s commercial activity happens. Through this partnership, companies can point Claude at the customer information and business context that they’ve been building in Salesforce for decades, and use it to actually run and grow their businesses.”

Final Thoughts

Claudeforce is a bet that the AI-native interface and the system of record do not need to compete – they can, in fact, fuse together. Salesforce appears to be handing Claude the keys to decades of enterprise data and workflow logic, while wrapping Claude’s reasoning in the governance rails that regulated enterprises need.

Anthropic uses Salesforce, and Salesforce uses Claude. Does Marc Benioff have a point about the ‘SaaSpocalypse’ being overdone?
