What Is the “Data Matters” Trailblazer Community?

By Sasha Semjonova

Trailblazer communities are a great way for people in the ecosystem to connect, learn, and network with other like-minded individuals. At TrailblazerDX earlier this year, the latest community was unveiled: the Data Matters Community.

Made with the intent to be a cross-role community that fosters collaboration, problem-solving, and more, the Data Matters Community could be your next group to join if you share a love for data.

What Is “Data Matters” All About?

In short, the Data Matters Community is the latest Trailblazer Community group, co-led by data enthusiasts Mehmet Orun and Angelica Buffa. They both announced the community at TrailblazerDX 2024 with their very first networking event to outline what it is about, who it is for, and how networking will happen in the future.

According to Angelica, the community is cross-role and cross-cloud, bringing together people with a passion for data who perhaps aren’t sure about tools like Data Cloud or something else, but are willing to learn. “We want to help shape the future of data management through collaboration”, she said.

What’s in It for Me?

If this sounds like something up your alley, but you’re still not quite sure how this community could benefit you, here are a few points to consider:

Solving Real-World Challenges

A big emphasis in this community is solving real-world challenges, as some of the most helpful training for any tool is navigating realistic use cases and their issues. If you’ve not yet done this for Data Cloud, this community could provide you with plenty of opportunities to do so.

Expert Advice

Mehmet and Angelica are two of the best people to be figureheads for this community due to the sheer amount of knowledge and expertise that they both possess. If anyone knows their stuff on all things data, it’s these two!

Help With Tools

As we now know, customers with Enterprise Edition or above can get started with Data Cloud provisioning at no extra cost. However, if you’re new to Data Cloud or are just generally unsure about what you’d like to do with it, asking around in the community could get you up and running quickly.

Networking!

Like with any Trailblazer Community, networking is a great benefit to take advantage of. And with this community in particular, you get the added benefit of networking with a bunch of different people in different roles, expanding your knowledge greatly.

Summary

It’s great to see that there’s now a community out there for data enthusiasts to come together to solve problems on the Salesforce platform. We hope you’ll join if you’re interested and ask Mehmet or Angelica some questions if you’re not sure yet – they’d be more than happy to answer them!
