Salesforce is today unveiling ‘AIforce’ as the big announcement from Dreamforce ‘26, making CRM as accessible as possible outside of Salesforce – and saying that AI is going to “replace” the user interface (UI).
AIforce means that people “don’t have to come to Salesforce to get work done,” the company said in the product announcement, adding that Salesforce now “comes to them” in Claude, Slack, Lightning, or wherever they prefer to work. Workers who have never opened a dashboard can now update records, trigger workflows, and ask questions outside of Salesforce’s UI.
What Is AIforce?
Salesforce says AIforce will let agents anywhere reason and take action across all the data, logic, and workflows inside Salesforce.
Company knowledge lives in Salesforce, but, Salesforce says, the fact that it could only be reached by opening an app and navigating through the UI ‘limited’ who could use Salesforce, how much information they could access, and how much value they could get out of it.
Agents can read across hundreds of records at once, pull in connected systems, reason, and take action with a full view of the business.
Salesforce also quite boldly says that AIforce empowers “anyone to build their own UI”. The company said in a statement: “Instead of making them navigate a fixed system of layouts and fields, it lets them compose customized live interfaces on the fly, simply by describing them, inside platforms like Slack, Claude, and Coworker.
“This gives everyone their own UI, built to surface exactly the insights they need, when and where they need them.”
AIforce adds a layer to Salesforce’s Agentic Enterprise architecture, bringing the context of Data 360, the application and semantic intelligence of Customer 360, and Agentforce to any AI interface.
Salesforce says this makes AI interfaces intelligent and dynamic, because agents can reason across all data and conversations in Salesforce to provide insights, rather than people having to wade through records to find them.
Every request runs on existing permissions and business rules, so agents only see what the person interacting with it can see.
Salesforce says there is “zero data retention”. Business data is used to answer questions but is not kept by the model provider.
Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce, said: “AI is creating an interface revolution. “We are combining model intelligence with all the context that customers have built into Salesforce to create an intelligent, dynamic, composable system that is securely governed, built with Zero Data Retention, and designed to work with the core systems that already run your business.”
The AIforce Package
AIforce seems to be a culmination of several announcements into one. Its constituent parts are as follows.
Claudeforce
Claudeforce is an extended partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic. It launches with Salesforce in Claude, packing Salesforce’s intelligence into a prebuilt MCP server within Claude, with 37 prebuilt sales skills.
The CRM company says that Salesforce in Claude will also include analytics with Tableau and skills for service, marketing, commerce, and industries, ‘in the near future’.
Claude Code’s Salesforce Development plug-in brings more than 40 skills, access to Salesforce’s broader skills library on GitHub, and specialized sub-plug-ins.
Salesforce in Claude is now available to all customers in beta.
Slackforce
Slackforce brings the context of Salesforce into conversations in Slack.
Salesforce recently announced Slackforce Surfaces, which allows users to pull live context and data from Salesforce, Slack, and other tools to create interactive, live interfaces in Slack.
‘Slack CRM’ connects every Slack conversation, user, and update to Salesforce. Users can create a new Salesforce account, log notes, and update records with a prompt in Slack, without ever having to open Salesforce.
Slack Code makes AI development a multiplayer activity, giving teams a dedicated place to work with an agent on a coding session or project, in Slack. Working code, prototypes, and documents show up in Slack.
Agentforce Coworker
Agentforce Coworker is an AI teammate in the Lightning interface. Because it runs inside Salesforce, it operates within existing permissions and business rules, and nothing is retained outside your trust boundary.
It calls the specialized Agentforce agents you’ve built and deployed, so it grows along with your agent workforce.
Agentforce Coworker is instantly available to Salesforce customers.
The Headless Toolkit
AIforce is powered by the Headless Toolkit. Salesforce describes this as the architecture that exposes every element of the Salesforce platform, providing builders and developers with MCPs, APIs, plug-ins, skills, and developer tools to build customized AI experiences on top of Salesforce’s architecture.
‘AI Replaces the UI’
In a press briefing ahead of the announcement, we got a glimpse into Salesforce’s intentions with AIforce.
Patrick Stokes, President, Applications and Marketing at Salesforce, told the media: “I think the value of Salesforce has never been in the UI. It’s been in the platform that stores the way our customers encode their business.”
He added that this might be true for a lot of enterprise software, not just Salesforce. “The UI is probably not everybody’s favorite part, right? The UI is probably the thing that often gets in their way and slows them down, because there’s just so much, and there’s so many rules. It can be very, very difficult,” Patrick added.
“That’s what’s so exciting about this, is it… it kind of disaggregates the UI and brings AI in to kind of replace it. And I think that’s very exciting.”
Final Thoughts
Salesforce wants you to be able to access all the features of its CRM by using AI in other interfaces, like Slack and Claude.
As far as big Dreamforce announcements go, it seems more piecemeal than the big Agentforce reveal of two years ago. But we’re still in the Agentforce era, and increasingly, it would appear, the ‘no UI’ era.
