Huge Changes to Salesforce Certifications: Here’s What You Need to Know

Brace yourselves for the biggest shake-up to certifications in years! A brand new certification experience is coming, starting July 21, 2025, designed to centralize and simplify the process. 

Let’s dig into what’s changing, what you need to do, and how this new streamlined system will transform your cert journey – whether you’re certified in Salesforce, Tableau, MuleSoft, Slack, or all of the above.

What’s Changing With Salesforce Certifications?

As of July 21, 2025, all certification activity (including Tableau and Accredited Professional) will be managed through Trailhead Academy. That means one login, one dashboard, and one place to manage every part of your certification journey, from discovering the right exam to registering and accessing prep materials.

You’ll be able to:

• See a 360-degree view of your certifications.
• Get personalized exam recommendations.
• Register for exams via mobile devices.
• Access a full catalog of classes and certifications, plus filter by role, product, or skill.

Exams will now be delivered via Pearson VUE. You can register on your phone, but exams cannot be taken on mobile devices!

Here’s what you can expect from the new certification hub:

• Personalized homepage with upcoming exams and suggested classes.
• Smart recommendations based on your cert history.
• A curated catalog of all certifications and training options.
• One-click registration via Pearson VUE.
• Detailed exam pages with pricing, prerequisites, prep materials, and more.

Key Dates

Salesforce Certifications:

• June 30, 2025: Last day to register for Salesforce exams via Webassessor.
• July 13, 2025: Last day to take your Salesforce exam in Webassessor.
• July 21, 2025: New Salesforce Certification Experience goes live in Trailhead Academy.

Tableau Certifications:

• June 30, 2025: Last day to register for Tableau exams.
• July 6, 2025: Last day to take Tableau exams in the current system.
• July 21, 2025: Tableau joins the new experience, too.

What to Do Now

• Do make sure the email on your Trailblazer profile matches the email used in Webassessor or your Tableau account.
• Do create a Trailblazer profile if you do not already have one, and ensure you use the same email linked to your current certification accounts to ensure everything syncs correctly.
• Do reschedule any exams in Webassessor scheduled after July 13, 2025. You can either bring the date forward to complete your exam in Webassessor or schedule it in the new experience from July 21, 2025. 

What Not to Do Now

• Do not create a new Trailblazer profile if you already have one. One Trailblazer profile is all you need.
• Do not complete an exam in Webassessor if you do not feel ready! You can reschedule it in the new experience from July 21, 2025. 
• Do not rush to use any voucher codes you have – if your code hasn’t expired by July 21, 2025, you’ll be able to use it in the new certification platform.
