Create Salesforce Quick Links for Google and LinkedIn Prospecting

By Matt Foster

Do you frequently search Google or LinkedIn by copying and pasting data from Salesforce? Wouldn’t it be much easier if you could create quick links to search 3rd party websites directly from Salesforce?

I created two custom links to put in a report or list view in Salesforce, that will automatically fill in LinkedIn and Google search results with Salesforce data.

Check out this video on how to set up search hyperlinks in Salesforce for easy data prospecting and clean up! Enjoy!

    Thanks for this video! I was able to recreate it in a lower environment with 1 hiccup... I am searching for the Account name hours and the only issue I am having is if the Account name contains an '&' in it, it cuts off the Google search right there. Here is my formula: HYPERLINK("https://www.google.com/search?q="& Name &" "+"Hours","Google Search", "+blank") Example I click on this hyperlink for an Account with the name 'United Oil & Gas Corp.' and the search result is just 'United Oil'. Any thoughts? Thanks again!

    Try to wrap with {!URLENCODE()} So, {!URLENCODE(HYPERLINK(“https://www.google.com/search?q=”& Name &” “+”Hours”,”Google Search”, “+blank”))}
