Anthropic’s Claude Now Powers Salesforce’s Agentforce 360

At Dreamforce this week, Salesforce announced its latest rendition of Agentforce – Agentforce 360. As part of this release, Salesforce also announced an expansion of its partnership with AI giant Anthropic, with its proprietary tool Claude acting as the foundational base of Agentforce 360. 

This expansion – formed of three major initiatives – is in place to deliver trusted, enterprise-grade AI for regulated and data-sensitive industries.

What Is New? 

The conversation surrounding data sensitivity and trust has always been pertinent, but it has never been more important than in AI discussions. Without trust that data will be managed appropriately, customers will be hesitant to even attempt adoption, let alone trust Large Language Models (LLMs) or agents with their complex data sets. This is where, for Salesforce, Claude comes in. 

Salesforce has announced that Agentforce 360 is built on top of Anthropic’s Claude, which means that regulated industries, including financial services, healthcare, and cybersecurity, can use a reliably secure AI model. With this option, customers can also benefit from keeping sensitive data and workloads secure within Salesforce’s trusted environment.

Not only that, but the two also plan to collaborate on industry-specific AI solutions for regulated industries via the Agentforce 360 Platform, beginning with financial services, and are integrating Claude and Slack to give users AI access on their preferred working app of choice. 

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said that, like many other Salesforce initiatives, the goal is to put customers at the center. 

“By bringing Salesforce directly into Claude – and Claude’s intelligence into Salesforce and Slack – we’re giving every company the power to work in entirely new ways. Together, we’re making trusted, agentic AI real for every industry – combining Anthropic’s world-class models with the trust, reliability, accuracy, and scale of Agentforce 360, helping customers achieve new levels of productivity, innovation, and growth.”

What Makes Claude a More Secure Choice? 

With this news, it is natural to think, why Claude? With a myriad of AI models out there – including OpenAI’s which Salesforce also has a partnership with – Salesforce chose Claude for Agentforce 360, but ultimately, it is a case of making it accessible for a wide variety of industries.

Salesforce says that Anthropic is the first LLM provider to be fully integrated within the Salesforce trust boundary, with all of Claude’s traffic contained in the Salesforce virtual private cloud. This means that Salesforce customers have access to Anthropic’s Amazon Bedrock-hosted models within Agentforce 360, and deploy domain-specific AI while ensuring data sensitivity.

Final Thoughts

Agentforce for Anthropic is currently available to select customers. Further details regarding the availability of new collaborations on regulated industry solutions and the Agentforce 360 integration for Claude, which are both under development, will be released in the coming months.
