Dreamforce 2025: Back in San Francisco
Make sure to mark your calendars for next year – Dreamforce will be taking place in San Francisco from October 14-16, 2025. These dates may come as a shock to many, as the event has been held in September for the past four years (no information surrounding this decision has been disclosed).
The big talking point from this announcement is Salesforce’s decision to stay put in San Francisco. There have been ongoing discussions within the ecosystem surrounding safety issues in the city, with homelessness and crime increasing drastically over the past few years. After a Dreamforce speaker was attacked in 2023, many voiced that the event should move to a more suitable location to prevent another incident.
According to San Francisco Business Times, Salesforce announced their plans to remain in San Francisco until 2027 as long as the city showed their “ability to demonstrate a safe and secure environment for Dreamforce” this year. Essentially, Salesforce gave San Francisco an ultimatum – clean up your act, or we’re moving out.
In response to this, San Francisco Mayor London Breed has made a gargantuan effort to mitigate these issues so that the city is safe for all to visit. Breed was a speaker at this year’s Dreamforce and highlighted the change in culture being implemented throughout the city while hinting at the likelihood that Dreamforce would return to San Francisco.
When asked if she had received guarantees that Dreamforce would return to the city in 2025, the mayor said, “I’ve gotten some”, and described the prospect of Las Vegas (a city mentioned most as a potential alternative) as too distracting for Dreamforce attendees!
It’s safe to say that Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, has noticed a significant improvement at this year’s event and announced that he is more than happy to remain in San Francisco for another three years:
