Data Giants GRAX and CapStorm Announce Merger Under Ascendx

By Sasha Semjonova

GRAX and CapStorm, both well-known names in the Salesforce ecosystem, announced this week that they will be merging under the Ascendx umbrella.

The merger, expected to close in early November 2025, is expected to bring the companies’ customers closer to true data ownership, control, and AI-ready insights. It also brings CapStorm’s six different apps together with GRAX’s capabilities for a more well-rounded data management solution.

Merger Details

According to the official press release, both companies in the merger are driven by the notion of “your Salesforce data belongs to you, not the platform” – something particularly pertinent at this time when security is at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Diane Deng, the Senior Product Marketing Manager at GRAX, wrote that this merger will result in the creation of a “unified Data + AI company”, aimed at helping enterprises take full control of their data across AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-prem environments, meet governance and compliance needs, and leverage historical data to power AI, analytics, and innovation.

It is reported that Ted Pappas, CapStorm’s CEO, will continue to lead the combined companies in that position, and GRAX founder Joe Gaska will take on the role of Chief Product Officer, with GRAX Co-Founder Christopher Haley taking on the role as COO.

Summary

This merger marks the start of a new chapter for both data companies, with a strong focus on utilizing the best of AI’s capabilities while prioritizing data security for all.

For customers, GRAX has assured that they will continue to receive the support and roadmap they rely on, and that no further action is needed.
