Welcome to the weekly overview of Salesforce related news for the week of August 21 – August 27. Since this is an overview, some of the news may already be covered in detail in articles on this website.
Salesforce is again one of the most innovative companies
This week, Forbes listed Salesforce as one of the world’s most innovative companies. It’s the 6th year in a row that Salesforce is in the top of the list. I am proud to see Salesforce in the top of the list again. And with Marc Benioff announcing Einstein for coming Dreamforce (see below), I feel confident that Salesforce will make the top of the list again next year.
An insight in how the world’s most innovative companies are ranked:
“Companies are ranked by their innovation premium: the difference between their market capitalization and the net present value of cash flows from existing businesses (based on a proprietary algorithm from Credit Suisse HOLT). The difference between them is the bonus given by equity investors on the educated hunch that the company will continue to come up with profitable new growth.”

Salesforce announces Einstein, to be revealed at Dreamforce
Fellow blogger Lucy Mazalon wrote an article about Salesforce Einstein earlier this week. Be sure to read it to find out more about the details on Salesforce Einstein. In my opinion this could be a game-changer as it becomes available throughout Salesforce’s product line.
Women’s Leadership Summit
On August 26 (Women’s Equality Day), Salesforce announced the second annual Women’s Leadership Summit at Dreamforce on October 6.
Equality for all is one of the eight core values of Salesforce and therefore I think it’s only logical that Equality gets it’s well deserved attention at Dreamforce.
The Summit will focus on Workplace Equality, Leadership Equality and Economic Equality.
Winter ’17 Release Notes
The release notes for the Winter 17 are now available. As some of you may have noticed, the release notes were already available a few weeks ago.
The Winter 17 release notes are not yet Generally Available, but still Preview. You can find the release notes here.
Fellow blogger Ines Garcia already wrote an article on this site which featured her top 3 picks. I haven’t yet had the time to go over the release notes in detail, but I am really looking forward to:
