Ben McCarthy

Ben McCarthy

Founder & Co-Editor

I’ve been working in the Salesforce ecosystem ever since I graduated from University in 2012, and now I’m hooked! I’ve held various roles over the years working for end-users, ISV’s, and founded a UK-based Salesforce consultancy. As well as my role at SalesforceBen.com, I am also a Non-Executive Director at Cloud Orca, a London based Consultancy.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, technology, eating out, and listening to techno.

Lucy Mazalon

Lucy Mazalon

Operations Director & Co-Editor | Pardot & Salesforce Consultant

The Salesforceben.com blog and I go back a few years, editing and writing content as a side hustle. I have been working in the Salesforce ecosystem since Autumn 2014, most of that time as a Salesforce/Pardot Consultant.

I founded The DRIP which covers all things Salesforce marketing automation (Pardot, Marketing Cloud, and more), born from documenting the use cases and challenges I encountered day-to-day. The DRIP later merged with Salesforceben.com to bolster our knowledge for marketers.

I was named a Salesforce Marketing Champion in 2020, and I am a co-leader of the London B2B Marketers User Group.

I live to travel, so I’m always looking for opportunities to connect with the global Trailblazer Community!

Courses & Community Director | Salesforce Evangelist

I became an “accidental admin” in 2014 and fell in love with the Salesforce platform. Fast forward many years and I’m still passionate about all things Salesforce and sharing my knowledge with the ecosystem.

At Salesforce Ben I act as our principal Salesforce Evangelist as well as being responsible for our Courses platform and student community. I’m the creator of several of our courses including the Salesforce Certified Administrator Course.

Supporting others to get certified and advance their careers is my passion. I have previously been part of the Salesforce Credential Security Council and am currently serving on the Salesforce EMEA Workflow Development Group.

I have been a Salesforce MVP since 2020 and in my spare time enjoy speaking at Salesforce events, mentoring and leading the Bristol Salesforce Admin Group.

Account Manager

I’ve been with the Salesforce Ben team for over two years, having graduated from the University of Southampton where I studied Business Management.

I manage the social media channels here at Salesforce Ben, and I also look after our sponsorship programme, working alongside our partners to optimize their packages.

Prior to joining Salesforce Ben, I worked as a marketing executive at Tech Data, and as a social media assistant at a marketing agency in the recruitment industry. Both roles gave me strong foundations in communication and marketing, and I can’t wait to continue building relationships with our partners in the Salesforce ecosystem.

Content Manager

I joined the Salesforce Ben team in September 2021. Although I am brand new to the Salesforce community, I am already learning to love this fun and collaborative ecosystem.

With past roles in copywriting, website management, and social media, as well as degrees in English and Creative Writing, I feel very much at home in the world of content.

In my spare time I can be found – you guessed it – reading, writing, streaming, hiking, and/or snacking!

Lauren Metcalf

Lauren Metcalf

Content Editor

I began working with Salesforce Ben straight after graduating from the University of Liverpool in June 2022. Whilst studying English Literature, I discovered my love for proofreading and editing.

The diverse role I have at Salesforce Ben has given me the opportunity to develop the skills I learnt from my degree, whilst also discovering an abundance of new ones, and increasing my knowledge of the tech industry. Though I am new to Salesforce, I am excited to learn and grow in this stimulating community.

Outside of work, you’ll find me reading, practicing yoga, organizing my belongings, and trying new things.

Julia Solis

Marketing Manager

I joined Salesforce Ben as Marketing Manager in early 2022. I just graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Marketing. Before moving back to Europe, I worked in a variety of different industries, from hospitality to broadcast news in the States – you could call me a professional grasshopper!

I love to travel, so it was only natural to join a team in a different country! In my spare time you’ll find me reading, trying out new foods (the weirder the better), or watching scary movies.

Sasha Semjonova

Sasha Semjonova

Events and Video Coordinator

I joined Salesforce Ben in August 2022 after graduating from Bath Spa University with a Journalism & Publishing degree.

Now, I use the skills I have learned in university to transform content, help others and learn about the thriving Salesforce community.

In my spare time you can find me with my nose in a book or practicing something new on guitar.

Salesforce Technical Trainer

I first started using Salesforce when working in retail as an in store technical specialist. Back then, we used it mainly for managing our in store appointments with customers, but it wasn’t until I moved from retail that I realised how special Salesforce was. Here I was using the exact same system but in a totally different way. From that moment I was hooked and knew what I wanted to do with my life!

Fast forward eleven plus years and various admin roles, I started working at Salesforce Ben in September 2022 as a Salesforce Technical Trainer (having previously been a guest author).

Now a 10 x certified Salesforce Professional, I want to use my vast experience working in different industries and using different products, to help people increase their knowledge of Salesforce.

 Abraham Ramirez

Video Editor

I joined Salesforce Ben as a video editor in August 2022.

I was part of the media world before my passion for editing began – through TV, magazines, and video adverts. I became a media student – this felt like learning the trade’s secrets and getting the inside scoop. I like to understand the motivations behind the media, and I am incredibly eager to use film to attract audiences and showcase the fantastic things happening in the world of Salesforce.

Ryan Van

Ryan Van

Video Editor

I joined Salesforce Ben as a video editor in August 2022. I started out pursuing computer science in sixth form, hoping to become a software developer. I then realised my passion for creativity in digital media and I fell in love with editing videos.

In my spare time you will find me consuming media 24/7 – gaming, editing, and watching TV shows or YouTube.
