5 Apps Every Salesforce Admin Should Try Right Now

Launched in 2006, the Salesforce AppExchange recently celebrated its 10th birthday. Today, it’s the biggest business app marketplace on the planet.

With thousands of downloadable apps, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stay on top of what’s available through the Appexchange. To help you better navigate and to celebrate the AppExchange hitting double digits, here are five must-have Salesforce apps from the past 10 years:

Cirrus InsightCirrus-Insight-Cirrus-Blue-on-White

The Cirruspath team found it tedious to talk to customers in an email client and then log activities in a separate CRM system. That’s why they built Cirrus Insight, an app that integrates Salesforce with your inbox.

Using Cirrus Insight, users can create new leads and contacts, save emails to Salesforce, update opportunities, sync calendars, track email open rates and more straight from Gmail, Outlook or Office 365. Starting at $19 per user per month, Cirrus Insight is a nifty app that helps users spend less time with admin tasks and more time selling. Click here to learn more.

Conga Composer released in 2009 and has been a fixture in the “Popular Apps” section of the AppExchange ever since. The app allows users to create documents using data from anywhere in Salesforce.

Instead of manually exporting data and crafting PDFs, proposals or PowerPoint presentations, Conga Composer users can easily generate fully-customizable documents. You can also use Salesforce workflows to automate document generation—automatic invoicing or quotes, for example. Click here to learn more.

DocuSign-LogoDocuSign for Salesforce

DocuSign is a leading electronic signature software both on and off the Salesforce AppExchange. (Heck, even my local coffee shop uses the software.) With DocuSign, users can obtain signatures for contracts, NDAs and the like either in person or via email.

Backed by just under 5,000 reviews on the AppExchange, DocuSign allows users to send, sign and approve documents faster than ever. Click here to learn more.

download (1)Clicktools

Released in 2006, Clicktools and the AppExchange have grown up together. As the first survey tool to be integrated with Salesforce, Clicktools helps users gather feedback from customers, prospects and employees. Create rich, branded forms to gain valuable customer insights and drive better business decisions.

Clicktools has been voted the Best Customer Service App for five years straight, currently ranks #1 for Customer Service apps and ranks #6 overall on the AppExchange. I’d say that earns it a tryout! Click here to learn more.

unnamed (3)Plecto

The youngest app on the list is Plecto, a team motivation software that allows users to create custom dashboards that visualize Salesforce data in real time. With leaderboards, instant notifications and custom recognition features, Plecto will transform your team into motivated high performers fueled by friendly competition!

With Plecto, a sales manager could display a leaderboard that ranks reps by the value of their Won Deals. Anytime a new deal is closed in Salesforce, the dashboards will update and could, for example, play a custom sound or display a custom message recognizing the rep for his/her recent success.

Though we’re a bit biased, Plecto is a great way to better inform, align and motivate your sales or customer service teams. Click here to learn more.

Happy Birthday, AppExchange!
