Apologies all – I’ve had to take the Sales Cloud down for various reasons but will try my hardest to revamp it and get it up again in the coming weeks.

Kind Regards,

Ben

  1. Doubt in the below question,
UC needs to prevent duplicate leads from being created in SF. Leads are deemed duplicates if they match on the name, last name, phone, and email address. Which solution should be recommended to prevent duplicate leads?

This cannot be solved using validation rules by making the combination of all the 4 fields unique?

      Hi Geetanjali,

Are you referring to the VLOOKUP function? I’m afraid this is only available to custom objects so would not work on leads.

  2. Question
UC needs to ensure that when a product is associated with an opp. the appropriate product specialists are added to the sales team. Which solution would meet this business requirement?

    1. Create a workflow rule on the opp
    2. Create an Apex trigger on the opp
    3. Create an Apex trigger on the opp. line item
    4. Create a workflow rule on the opp. sales team

I beleive answer should be 3. Since you want sales team to be added on adding product to oppiuruntiy, then trigger will be written at opp line item.. Not at opp.

  3. UC needs to prevent duplicate leads from being created in SF. Leads are deemed duplicates if they match on the name, last name, phone, and email address. Which solution should be recommended to prevent duplicate leads?

    1. Expose the “Find Duplicates” button on the Lead page layout
    2. Select the “Prevent Duplicates” checkbox in the Lead Settings
    3. Create a validation rule on the lead object
    4. Create an Apex trigger on the Lead object

I think answer should be 1 though possible through 4 also

      Hi Bharti,

The keyword here is prevent. Exposing the find duplicates button would allow Sales Reps to see duplicates. But it does not prevent them from entering them.

  4. Can you help me to resolve below question?

Universal Containers sells three unique products and each product has its own sales process. The company qualifies prospects for the three products in a consistent manner; however, once the customer has shown interest, the sales representatives must follow the relevant products sales process. What solution should a consultant recommend to meet these requirements? Choose 2 answers
    a. Define sales processes to map to each opportunity record type.
    b. Configure opportunity record types for each sales process.
    c. Create sales stages that align with opportunity record types.
    d. Define the default opportunity teams for each opportunity record type.

      Hi Bharti,

I believe the answer to this to be A and B. We need to create different record types and also different sales processes to adhere to the requirement.

      1. I think it’s A and C….We don’t configure the opp record type for sales process.. it’s defined while creating the sales process itself..

          1. The answers are a play on words, I suspect B is wrong as the Opp record types are mapped to the Sales Process and not the other way round. So the best answer should be A and C

  5. One more que:
Can you please help me to understand partner roles?

I understand that partner roles are not part of role hierarchy and partner roles are created automatically as soon partner users are created..

But are partner users assigned profiles? Do they inherit channel account role?

  6. Hi ben

Can you please answer this question ?

UC Requires its Sales Rep to go through an internal certification process to sell certain group of productsWhat could be done to prevent a Sales Rep from adding these products to opp. if they are not certified to sell themChoose 2 ans
    A. Use Criteria based sharing rule on products marked as requiring certification to only share the products to users who are certified
    B. Use a validation rule on Opp. Products to prevent them from adding products marked as requiring certification if they are not certified
    C. USe a validation rule on products marked as requiring certification to prevent them from being added to an opp
    D. Use a Separate Price book for the products requiring certification and only share the price book to users who are certified

I think the answers are b and d.

      Hi Deepa,

I believe the answer to be A and B. We can rule out C as adding a validation rule on products won’t let them see them at all. I think A is a better solution as it does not require creating a new price. I’m not 100% though.

      Thanks!

      1. Not sure here but just saw this and am concerned at what I read because I have come across a similar question. Can you have sharing rules on Products? I thought Products are only tied to Price Books and it is Price Books that you share as USE, VIEW ONLY or NO ACCESS. In my opinion, that rules out (A). Also, Validation Rule on Products would not be helpful ruling out (C). That leaves (B) and (D). You CAN have a Validation Rule on Opportunity Products and it sounds logical as expressed above. Also, D, is plausible but not sure if a very good option considering the overhead etc. but certainly not wrong. So, my bet would be on (B) and (D).

        What do you think?
